Good Luck
Although the Red Sox were unable to come up with a win tonight and bring the magic number down to 1, today was an unforgettable day. The debate that was filmed today was an outstanding experience. Each candidate did a tremendous job, and each were able to bring out their own ideas and special personalities that make them unique to this competition. This race for the presidency has been an incredible journey and I will remember it for the rest of my life, regardless of the results. I would just like to wish the best of luck to all of the candidates still in the running, and I hope that we all keep in touch afterwards. It has been wonderful to be able to share this time with all of you.
I can’t wait to see you Friday night after the game in the debate. You’ve done an excellent job and you are a touch of class.
Remy and these celebs can’t hold a candle to the new Queen of Fenway Park. Everyone I know is going to vote for you. Can’t wait to see you in the debates tonight with Mr Potatoe head – Russert. (Who isn’t a Sox Fan) I hope you call him out on that.
As someone who is an avid history buff and a student of the original Royal Rooters history, I value your connection to that storied past. I would consider giving you my vote if like Jarred you would push for a Red Sox Hall of Fame and Museum so the great stories of the Red Sox past could be displayed for generations to come. All the best from Nova Scotia.
Great idea for a museum. Cheryl will have to loan her grandfather’s historic diamond ring for display when she’s not wearing it to games, bringing good luck to the Sox. I hope she’s wearing it to any games she’s going to in the playoffs!
I would love for there to be a museum about Red Sox history. Currently, the Baseball Tavern in Boston is a replica of old Nuf Ced’s 3rd base saloon, with lots of great pictures of the original Royal Rooters and Red Sox teams. It would be great to expand this into a full, family-friendly museum. I would be in full support of this.
When I was in grad school at Clark in Worcester, I insisted on living in Boston so I could be near Fenway Park–I ended up living at 464 Huntington for several years. Although my hometown is Cleveland and I love my Tribe, I continue to root for the Sox. IF I had a vote, I would vote for “royalty” and cast my ballot for Cheryl. Good luck to you and to Red Sox Nation (except against Cleveland)
Hey Cheryl:
Great blog, thanks for the interesting insights etc!
I voted for you and I hope you’re successful next week – best of luck from a fellow Nation member over the pond!
I’m a huge Red Sox (and baseball) fan and I have been for a number of years. The game is gaining in poularity here in the U.K. and (would you believe it) the Red Sox have been offically named the most popular MLB team in England!
I did live in Mass. for 1 year as a kid in the 70’s (I lived in Worcester) and I remember going to Fenway to see the Sox play Oakland (can’t remember the score though)!!!
Anyway,all the best…
Hey Cheryl, Well the Red Sox did it. They clinched the Division. Now I can actually talk about them at the office, without the scare of jinxing them. Good luck in the race for President of Red Sox Nation. You will make a great leader. Lib Dooley would be proud and supportive of you. Go SOX and go Cheryl!
Cheryl,
My goodness you did a fantastic job in the debate. I was just really, really impressed. Congratulations. I look forward to talking with you about this crazy campaign when it’s all over…

Cheryl:
A museum for Red Sox fans past and present would be great! Don’t lose that ring!
Amazing job…. good luck
Hey Cheryl,
Saw you on the debate last night, since it aired a day late because of the AL East celebration. Woo who! What a relief to have it clinched… and after last night’s win the icing on the cake is having the best record in the American League! As I’m teaching little Peyton to say, “Goooooo Red Sox!” Can’t wait to watch another post season. I feel so lucky to be a fan during a time when the Sox provide more joy than pain for the dedicated fans. And we do deserve to feel the joy… if our great-grandfather was the last to witness the Sox as World Champions (before ’04), then we should proudly be witness to another Championship… maybe even two! Libby was the bridge that connected our generations, and just like she did we are still here in Boston watching every game no matter what. It’s our blood line that has to keep the “grumpy old guys” from giving up too easily (Brian referred to them as “your Red Sox” to me one day last week after another worriesome loss, so he needs my help sometimes to get back on track). The debate was great… wish they let the common fans like you do a little more talking though. Good thing you have this blog! And I was a little annoyed that Tina Cervasio refered to Libby’s dad as the “great-uncle” and not your great-grandfather! Bygones anyway since you spoke true and clearly made your points when you had the chance to talk. People need to know that you would be an excellent, professional, dedicated, and passionate president. You would wear your title proudly, not as some gimmick or claim to fame. You would take the job seriously. I’ll be watching Tuesday night… and of course for the next two weeks or so! Love ya.
